Let's Make a Delicious Green Smoothie!

Now that we understand why a healthy smoothie is great for us, let's get into how to make the thing! Drink at least one of these a day, and you will be feeling vibrant and filled with energy!

*This green smoothie recipe

will yield about 24 ounces of smoothie.*

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 apples
  • 3-5 kale leaves (depending on size)
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 2 handfuls of whatever berries you like!
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • 2 cups of regular water

Here is a video that shows the step-by-step process of how to make this exact green smoothie:

Steps to follow:

  1. Add bananas, apples, and berries to your blender (unless the berries are frozen, in which case you should add at the end). When using a blender, it is always wise to start with the softest ingredients first. This helps the blender work it's magic.
  2. Next, add your greens! When preparing the kale, it is recommended to peel the leaves off of the stems and only use the leaves in your smoothie. The spinach can be washed and thrown right in.
  3. After that, add the liquid ingredients. If you want a sweeter smoothie, you can try adding a bit more coconut water (or bananas!).
  4. Blend up your healthy green smoothie.
  5. Enjoy!

Now, all that's left to do is share this delicious meal with one of your friends or loved ones!

If you have one of these for breakfast everyday, and follow a consistent workout regiment such as practicing different yoga styles, you will be on your way to a very healthy lifestyle! If you know how to make a green smoothie, you can nourish your body with all the proper nutrients it needs so that it can work as it should. Good luck, and be sure to share this recipe with your friends!

I start my morning off with one of these every day, minus the apple. I find that it makes the smoothie too pulpy. As a suggestion, I would recommend adding cinnamon, tumeric and cayenne pepper, all excellent for blood sugar levels and circulation.

It's definitely an awesome way to start the day, glad you're on top of it! Ahhhh I never delved into cinnamon or tumeric- but I do know cayenne pepper is awesome!

Thanks for the great suggestions, I will have to try the cinnamon and tumeric...and thanks for reading!

Read this article. It talks about the benefits of curcumin, which is the main ingredient in Tumeric. Also, Tumeric is good on scrambled eggs. :)

Thank you for sharing! I agree with the article in that cancer is not pre-programmed in us. I'm a big believer that diseases come from our environment, and that they are preventative.

Curcumin seems to be a very valuable nutrient! Thanks again for sharing... I will be adding tumeric to my eggs from now on! :)

Great article. I also think that our diets contribute much to certain disease formation.
