Halloween Tree

When you're looking for a quick and easy way to make a Halloween tree, you don't have much further to look. This can add a nice little touch to any Halloween party, or just to add to the celebration in general! So, here are a few tips to help you create your very own little Halloween tree!

You Will Need

  • a small Xmas Tree, preferably one that doesn't have lights, although if you have orange and black bulbs or blue bulbs, it could work out fairly nicely, or a fake wooden tree created for this purpose.
  • black spray paint
  • tarp
  • ornament hooks
  • small Halloween toys, which can include bats, bugs, toads, etc, but also small lamps and dolls and doll heads and pumpkins...you see where this is going.
  • Fake moss
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors

First of all, strip the fake needles off of your tree, if it is a Xmas tree. Mind the lights, wires, etc. make sure to get off as much as possible, but don't worry if you leave a few extra leaves. That's alright, since it adds a little bit of a spooky, not as neat as it should be, feel to everything. This isn't a bad thing when it comes to Halloween trees. Then, start spray painting your Halloween tree overtop of the tarp, so that nothing ends up on your furniture or on your patio. You don't exactly have to get everything even—that's up to you—but it will make your Halloween tree look a lot spookier.

Next, take pieces of the moss and glue it wherever you would like on your Halloween tree. This might take a little bit of work and might require a bit of trial and error, but it adds to the overall spookiness of your Halloween tree. From there, you can start adding your ornaments. You can glue them if you would like, but that it mainly a matter of personal preference. Otherwise, go ahead and use your ornament hooks. Take the time to check where you want every ornament before you finally decide on gluing it. Otherwise, don't worry too much—since you can adjust it like you would like.

Finally, you can add any extras that you would like to your Halloween tree. This includes any glitter that you would like (glitter spray isn't too expensive) and any other special effects that you would like to add.

Finally, just enjoy your Halloween tree! You can place it pretty much anywhere that you have in mind. This includes on your porch, your roof, your table...whatever you have in mind. Keep in mind that pets might still find this tree just as appealing as your friend the Christmas tree, so don't forget to keep them off however is necessary. These are just a few steps to quickly make your very own Halloween tree. There are quite a few other methods of doing this, so if you want something with a spookier feel, don't hesitate to check out other potential methods of making your own tree!
