Do you want your children to feel like real artists? Help bring importance to their works in progress, as well as keep them wrinkle free. You can make a portfolio for your children, or have your older crafty children make one with you for a fun arts & crafts project!
Things You'll Need:
• 9 x 22 paper (large construction paper, the heavier the better)
• 8 1/2 x 11 construction paper for arts & crafts
• 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardboard and rubber band (optional)
Step 1: Fold the paper not quite in half horizontally. You are going to leave one "half" an inch too long for a flap for the portfolio. This will all you to close the portfolio and keep arts & crafts projects safe inside.
Cut the smaller paper in half vertically. These pieces are going to become the sides of the art portfolio.
Staple one side to both halves of the larger paper you folded. If you staple it on the inside it will look neater when it's finished. Presentation is important to get your children to use it for arts & crafts storage. Repeat this step for the other side.
Fold the flap over. If you like, place the cardboard in the portfolio to give it some extra support. Then, use the rubber band to keep the portfolio closed. Encourage your child to artistically label and decorate their portfolio with their name, such as "Amber's Portfolio" in big block or bubble letters. Enjoy your arts & crafts project!
