How to Make the Best Jar Candles

By | Jul 12, 2011 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

When it comes to creating a warm and inviting environment in the home, candles can often do the trick in a fun and inexpensive way. If you visit the local department store to purchase some candles, you might look around and think that you can't afford to keep them in your home.

However, there is one type of candle that is both inexpensive and lasts quite a long time. I'm talking about jar candles. Jar candles come in many sizes, colors and scents. You can get them to match just about any home décor.

Some jars are small and others can be huge. Jar candles can be bought in regular candle scents such as cherry or vanilla, or they can even be bought in herbal scents such as lavender and rosemary.

One of the easiest ways to add a little something special to your living area is to incorporate a few jar candles into your design. You can use multiple jar candles to create an area of light. By setting four or five jar candles of different colors and sizes on your coffee table, you can create a feeling of warmth in the room.

How to Make Jar Candles

Another great idea for the placement of jar candles is to arrange them inside your fireplace during the summer time.

This way, you can get the glow from the fireplace without having the heat. This is a beautiful way to decorate for an evening party during the summer.

If you really love jar candles and tend to purchase quite a few of them, then you might want to consider making your own. You make your own jar candles easier than you can make regular ones. With jar candles, you don't need a mold. The jar is the mold.

All you have to do is buy a regular candle making kit and read up on how to use it for jar candles. You can buy mason jars in bulk at just about any department store. You can get traditional mason jars like your grandmother used to have, or you can get smaller, fancier jars that are made to use for projects such as this one.

Whether you choose to make or buy your jar candles, you should be able to find plenty of variety for your home décor. You will be able to give your home the light and scent of a beautiful living space without spending too much money.
