How to Market Yourself to Get a Work From Home Job

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 1

There are many people just like you who are looking for a way to get hired for a work from home job. Just stroll into any forum on the topic and you will see people begging someone to tell them who will hire them. Unfortunately getting hired for this type of position is not as easy as that. No one is just going to hand you a position that is going to pay you as you are sitting in your house. It is up to you to go out and market yourself to get a work from home job.

Number One: Craig's List

You might have searched on Craig's List for work from home job ads that you can apply to. This is a good and way to generate some leads. However, have you thought about running your own ad? This would be one where you are offering your services to others and businesses. Many freelance writers, web designers, and virtual assistants find this to be a great way to get new clients or positions to help them to earn more.

Number Two: Your Own Blog

If you want to market anything online, you need your own space. This includes marketing yourself for a work from home job. You can create your own blog or site to help to draw potential employers to you. The best way to do this is to own your own site with hosting and domain name to look more professional. You can set yourself up for as little as maybe $11 for the first month if you use the hostgator code workfromhomenow to get your hosting for just a penny for the first month.

Number Three: Forums

Forums are not just a place to waste time when you are working from home. You can make some real connections and land new gigs this way. One way that you can do this is to head to a forum where people who would need your services hang out. For example, if you were a freelance writer you could head over to an Internet marketing forum to find people that needed content written. As you interact with people and help them to learn why they need well written content, you are making connections that could help you to earn some cash.

Number Four: Cold Calling

This one way of marketing when it comes to work from home jobs scares people. However, it should not. In this day, you do not even have to make an actual phone call. You could do what is known as cold emailing. You find a company that you would be able to help or to get employment with and send an email to the person in the company that would be interested in what you have to offer. This can help you to find some much better paying work from home jobs then what others are finding.

Doing what others are not is going to be the key to finding success. If you follow the same path of applying to the leads on one site or forum to find work from home jobs, you are going to be trying to climb up a pretty steep hill. If you choose one or more of these methods, you will find yourself getting to your destination much easier.
