How to Pack for a Business Trip

By Edited Nov 23, 2015 0 0

Packing for a business trip probably sounds harder than it actually is, especially if you use luggage and other travel products from Brooks Brothers and Johnston & Murphy. It is very easy to execute a packing plan once you have it in place. If you plan ahead of time, you will find that packing for a business trip is not stressful at all, and that you won't forget to pack anything. You can save yourself a bit of money when shopping at those merchants by using coupon codes during the checkout process when you are placing your order.

1. Picking a Bag

It is very important that you know what piece of luggage you want to bring with you on your business trip. Do not wait until the last minute to pick a bag out. The piece of luggage that you decide to bring should be just big enough to fit your clothing and other essentials that you need to bring with you on your business trip. To make your life easier, go with a bag that is lightweight and on wheels. If you can purchase a piece of luggage that is TSA improved, you will save yourself a lot of time when going through security at the airport.

2. Packing Suits

If you are going on a business trip, then you are likely bringing at least 1 suit with you. One of the worst things that you can do is pack your suit in a garment bag. Instead, place your suit in your empty piece of luggage, allowing what doesn't fit to hang over the edge of the luggage. Be sure to smooth out any wrinkles with your hands when you place the suit in your luggage. If you are bringing any other clothing with you on your business trip, place that clothing on top of your suit. Once you have your other clothing placed on top of the suit, fold your suit back over the top and you'll be good to go. The clothing that you put in between your suit will cushion it and prevent wrinkles from forming while you are traveling.

3. Gadgets and Toiletries

It is always a good idea to pack your gadgets and toiletries on top of your clothing when you are traveling on a business trip. Doing so allows airport security to see your gadgets and toiletries clearly, which means they won't have to take your luggage apart to get a good look. Of course, you will likely have your cell phone with you, but if you are bringing a laptop or other electronic device, you can place those devices directly on top of your clothing in your bag. Toiletries that you should bring with you include a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and a razor. If you aren't comfortable using the shampoo and soap that the hotel provides, be sure to pack your own.
