How to Plan a Golfing Vacation

Golfing vacations are a golfers dream! There are so many wonderful opportunities to play! Just about anywhere you decide to travel, a golfer can find a course to play, including on board a cruise liner. Golf packages provide a variety of different lodging options and golf courses. Package deals feature, interactive area maps, descriptions and prices as well as course layouts & scorecards to make your golf vacation planning a breeze.

  • The National Senior Sports Association (NSSA): The organization sponsors golf holidays at several highly rated courses all of the US. Four-day trips that are scheduled once or twice a month. For a moderate cost, the package includes green fees, most meals, lodging, and cocktail parties.

  • NSSA also provides Golfing Vacations in such golf paradises as Scotland, Ireland, Mexico, Caribbean, and Hawaii. These are usually a week to 10 days in length.

  • NSSA also offers Golfing Cruises to the Caribbean or Bermuda, playing rounds of golf in port instead of shopping.

  • Green Fees: Many private and public golf courses offer senior golfers (usually those over 65) a discount off the regular greens fees. Take identification with you and always inquire before playing.

  • The Golf Card: A card designed especially for senior golfers. The cards cost about $95for the first year and $79 for renewal. It entitles you to play two complimentary 18-hole rounds at over 2,700 member golf courses throughout the world. Membership also includes a Quest International Card that provides 50% discounts on hotels and motels and a bimonthly Golf Traveler magazine. The magazine contains a directory of participating courses and resorts and discounts at many resorts when your book golf packages.
