Triathlon is a physical activity. Wait. This is an extreme understatement. Triathlon is an activity that would require all your strength, thus you have to make a lot of preparations before you finally become fully prepared for the race itself.

There are trainings that take place, pre-race and it does pay to know the triathlon training schedule. The triathlon training schedule includes managing your food and drinks before the race.

First things you have to consider is what to eat the day before the race and the morning time before that. Of course athletes have different body types with varying body needs. But there are general rules when it comes to this. Do not try a new diet or drink the day before.

Don't dare to drink an energy drink or breakfast that your body is not very familiar with. If you want try something new, do so weeks before the training session.

Don't try new equipment as well during the training. Dehydration is also the one thing you should avoid during the race. If you lose a percentage of your body weight through fluid loss, they say that you would also decrease your performance level by ten per cent.

To perform well, you have to be fully prepared to hydrate yourself with fluid that will replace the electrolytes in your body.

Choose the food that can easily be digested. And your last full meal should not be less than 12 hours before the race. If you are more used to a full meal before a race, eat so. But some take a liquid meal for easier digestion.

The bottom line is, you should choose and do what you know is best for your body. Training for a triathlon starts years before the race.

So when we talk about triathlon training schedule, we are actually talking about the training your body needs to undergo in terms of preparation on the eating and hydration process.
