How to Prevent High Blood Pressure Easily

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

High blood pressure is known as the silent killer. This is because you can have high blood pressure and not even know it sometimes! This is a huge issue because if your blood pressure stays too high then you can die a quick yet painful death.

Nothing about this sounds very pleasant to you I am sure. However, there are some options you can take which will help you lower your blood pressure without any harsh medicine. Keep in mind that even though you may be doing everything in your power to reduce your blood pressure that you should still talk to your doctor and get a check up at least once a year.

Get Your Weight Under Control

Having a healthy weight will severely reduce your blood pressure in most cases. You don't have to do it all in a week though either, nor should you. This would lead to a yo-yo effect were you would pack back on all the pounds you just lost. That is why having a good long term weight loss plan is best for your health.

You should try to do whatever exercises you want for at least 30 minutes every day. Try to mix in cardio some days, if not most days. These will give you the most benefit for your time. The best time to loose weight is also in the morning when your stomach is completely empty, this is because your body has no glucose to use. When your body uses glucose it is easier for you to expend energy because it isn't that hard for it to burn it. However when you are out of glucose it will start burning fat, which isn't used for energy as easily. So if you feel like you don't have the energy to do the early morning exercises just know its your body saying it's burning fat. Since this is what you want you should fight it!

Relax

That is right, blood pressure is related to stress. To lower your stress you should take regular breaks to just sit back and relax. Sometimes taking a personal day off work and doing nothing but watch TV or maybe go for nice relaxing hike. There are plenty of things you can do to just have a nice calm and relaxing day. Try to set at least a day or two every month where you do nothing but pamper yourself, you deserve it and it will help you.

Loose the Caffeine and Cigarettes

Caffeine’s are known to significantly increase blood pressure. Probably due to the same chemical reaction which causes you to stay awake. You probably can get away with your early morning coffee still, but remember to keep everything within reason. Stay with a small cup of coffee and don't get anymore. Quit drinking caffeinated pops.

Then the worst of them all, quit smoking. That is right, smoking causes your blood pressure to increase. I know most people will not quit just because of their blood pressure and will try everything else before this but if there ever was a time to try the patch or an electronic cigarette to see if it can help ease you off of them, now is it.
