Step 1

Throw out any and all cigarettes in your house. If you plan on quitting get rid of anything that allows you to quit. You have to be serious about quitting, or else you will not quit.

Step 2

Now take a deep breath because the process has begun. You have no more cigarettes and have decided to quit. The hardest part of this is going to be keeping your self busy. This is mostly an issue with something in you hands or mouth.

Step 3

As mentioned in step two keeping your hands busy and yourself buys in general helps a great deal in quitting smoking. Take up a hobby or a couple hobbies if you would really like to quit smoking. Some pick up knitting while others can go to the other extreme of playing video games. Either way, pick up something to keep you busy and your mind off of cigarettes.

Step 4

Sit down and think about how expensive they are. Once you do out the numbers they really are not worth the money you spend on them. Think about all the money you would save if you didn't smoke. Now even better think about all the money you can spend on your new hobby since you quit smoking.

Step 5

Just keep at it and do not falter. If you keep yourself busy enough you will actually quit smoking cigarettes. After the first day is over, it all gets a little easier. Most people break around 3 months as well. If you can make it past these 2 big milestones of quitting smoking you are probably in the clear.
