I have never really been a fan of using survey sites like Cash Crate or the like to make money. To me they have always seemed like more trouble than they are worth. More often than not survey sites turn out to be a scam to install malware or adware on your PC. However, recently I have become very fond of using a survey site called Swagbucks.

The way Swagbucks works is you do various tasks and they give you swagbucks, their currency. When you get an appropriate amount of Swagbucks you can trade them in for gift cards, paypal cash, or items. Unlike most sites that send you through a whole bunch of hoops before you can actually get to where you can earn money, Swagbucks lets you jump right in.

You can sign up, watch some TV on SwagTV, answer polls and play games. However these activities earn only a few meager swagbucks.

How to Earn Swag Bucks

In my experience, Swagbucks is not something you can just grind out daily. My first impressions were poor because I tried to grind out big Swagbucks in a short amount of time. Swagbucks is a sometimes site.

The most efficient ways for earning Swagbucks are:

  • Search and Win via the Toolbar
  • Doing Surveys
  • Completing Offers in your Swag Mail
  • Referrals
swagbucks toolbar

The absolute singular best way to earn Swagbucks is to install their toolbar. It is kind of ugly, but after awhile you get used to it. The toolbar allows you to search the web through Swagbucks. After a few searches they will occasionally reward you with 7-10 swag currency. If you are a person who does research for articles, answers questions on Web Answers or ChaCha, or just googles a lot of random junk this is the best way to earn. The toolbar is comparable to google, but sometimes you will need to open google for things like finding images.

Doing surveys is the next best way to earn money, however this can be finicky. Make sure to fully complete your Swagbucks survey profile as it will increase the chances of qualifying for surveys. I have personally not had much luck with this method as I often do not qualify for surveys. I have heard being in the 25-40 age range, working a job, and being the primary provider of your household has the best chance of qualifying for these opportunities. Being none of these, I don't get many surveys.

I have, however, had a lot of luck checking my Swag mail on occasion for offers. I check it maybe every few weeks. Each day you will get offer to do something for maybe 2 swagbucks, however sometimes you will get opportunities to sign up for an e-mail newsletter for bigger earnings. You have to be careful though, a lot of these offers are time sensitive and will expire.

Of course, as with many survey sites, the best way to earn is with referrals. Referrals earn you Swagbucks each time they complete a free search that yields swag currency. However, be aware that each referral can only earn a maximum of 1000 swagbucks for you.

Cashing Out

i can personally attest that Swagbucks does pay out. A few weeks ago I got my nice shiny $25 dollars from then via Paypal cash. All from my hours of idly searching the web. Of course it does take awhile to build up the 2,500 points it takes to get said payout, it is a nice way to casually build towards extra money while not working too hard.
