Every Apple iPod uses the same music software, iTunes. This program transfers songs and videos to the iPod and also play the radio. Anyone can download this program for free on the Apple website. You do not need to have an iPod to use the iTunes music player. If your iTunes software will not open or if you deleted the program, you can still replace the iPod music software with a fresh iTunes download.
iPods are popular MP3 players that are available in strores and online. They cost between $50 and $200, depending on where you buy them. You can even purchase refurbished iPods on the Apple website at a reduced cost. These devices have a one year warranty and are fully restored to a factory condition. I have purchased a few refurbished items from Apple and they are just as good as a brand new item! You can save around $50-100 if you buy an item used or refurbished.
iPods are very fragile and dropping them can permanently ruin the hardware inside. Keep your iPod in a hard case or place a silicon skin on it to try to protect it.
Log into your computer as the "Administrator." Go to the iTunes download site and type in your email address. Click on the name of your operating system to select the appropriate iTunes version and click "Download iTunes."
Click "Save" on the pop-up box and wait for the program to download.
Double-click on the iTunes file that just finished downloading. Click "Next" to start the installation process.
Choose the type of setup you want and click "Next." These setup options include adding a desktop shortcut, setting iTunes as the default audio player, and using QuickTime as the default media player.
Choose a location to store iTunes and click "Next." Click on "Done" to complete installation.
Plug in your iPod to your computer using the USB cable. The iTunes program will automatically open. It will ask you if you want to add your iPod music and photo files to the iTunes program. Choose to transfer the data onto your computer or choose not to transfer files if you want to erase the data on your iPod.
