How to Save Money Shopping Every Time

By Edited Nov 30, 2015 0 0

Every week, you have many opportunities to save money shopping. This could be a simple trip to the grocery store or perhaps buying a new wardrobe at your favorite clothing store. No matter what the venue is, the company that you are visiting is only interesting in one thing. This one thing is finding a way for you to leave all of your cash in their register before you walk out the door. For most people, they can not afford to spend all of their time or earnings in one place. So how do you beat the stores at their own game?
-
To save money shopping, you need to know ahead of time what tricks the stores will be trying to play on you. They will tempt and seduce you in so many ways that it will make your head swim. As a smart shopper, it is up to you to see through the illusions to get to what you were going out for in the first place. It is this need to see clearly that leads us to the basic steps that you will take before you head out the door.
-
Step One
-
Create a list if you want to save money shopping. People who go out with a clear vision of what they want will be able to keep on their plan and not spend more then they are planning on. It is best to do this even if you need clothes. The last thing that you want to do is to wander in a store and just shop with your emotions. You will end up with over $100 worth of clothing that you will probably never wear. If you have already been making a list for the groceries then it will be easier to make the change for others forms of going to stores.
-
Step Two
-
Avoid any sign that says buy 2 and get 1 free. This is a trap when it comes to being able to save money shopping. The items that are put into this bin are usually cheap and you do not need one of them, let alone one of them. The first trick is that you will actually need to spend more then you planned on the two items to get the special free one. This is finances that you did not allocate for this trip. With that on to the next step...
-
Step Three
-
Take out of your bank account exactly how much you want to spend. Leave all of your credit and debit cards at home. This will make sure that you save money shopping. You will not be able to purchase anything that is not on the list if you do not have the means on you to pay for them. This all means that you can not open the special store charge to cover the purchase. This is a trap to make you spend more and get you for months down the road with an insanely high interest rate. Stay away from the store charge cards if you want to save money shopping. Even if you stick with your list, the interest that you pay on the items that you did need will negate all of the hard work that you have been doing.
