How to Save Money Shopping on Amazon

By Edited Aug 20, 2015 2 1

Amazon.com is one of my favorite websites to shop at online. I like shopping at amazon for many reasons, one of these reasons is many of their products cost less than other websites. What is even better besides the lower prices on certain products is there are even more ways to save money shopping on amazon.com. Here are some tips on how to save even more money on amazon.

Take advantage of free shipping

There are several ways to take advantage of free shipping on amazon. My favorite way is amazon prime. Amazon prime gives you two-day free shipping, no minimum amount of money on qualifying purchases. Amazon prime $40 if you are a college student, and $80 a year for all non-college students. The best part though is you can sign up for a month free trial. College students will receive a free 6 month trial, a edu e-mail address is the only requirement to sign up!  If you would rather not sign up for amazon prime, amazon offers free super saver shipping on orders of $35 or more on select items. This is another great way to save on shipping through amazon. I also really like free shipping on amazon because you can get really heavy items shipped for free which would otherwise cost a fortune on other websites. Amazon's free shipping has saved me 100's of dollars on shipping costs over the years.

Amazon warehouse deals

Amazon warehouse has many everyday items discounted, these items range from groceries to electronics. Food and drink items in the warehouse deals section are often there because they are going to expire soon, but it is not until a few months later. What I like about the food and drink items in the amazon warehouse deals section is they are often natural and organic products, so you can buy and try these products for cheap. Many of the non-food and drink items like electronics are just returns and have nothing wrong with them.

Amazon mom

If you are a mom, dad, grandparent or caregiver sign up for amazon mom for some great deals on baby and kid items, it's free to sign up! When you first sign up you will receive 3 months of free 2 day shipping.  When you sign up for amazon mom you will save 20% on diapers and wipes, and other everyday baby and kid items. My favorite part of joining amazon mom is everything is shipped to your door for free for the first 3 months. Amazon mom can save you lots of time and money.

Amazon subscribe and save

Amazon subscribe and save is great if you have a product that you buy every month or every few months, such as dog food. Instead of going to the store every month for this item(s) you can go on amazon and see if that product has subscribe and save. If you sign up for subscribe and save you will save 5-20% off of that product. Amazon will then send you that product however often you select, for example every month. You can cancel at anytime if you decide that you do not like it.

Deal of the day

Amazon offers a deal of the day everyday. The product is usually a popular product, amazon will offer up to 70% off of a popular product everyday!

Coupons

Yes that's right amazon has coupons to use on products like personal care, and food and drink. You click on the coupon to clip it then the value of the coupon will be took off the product total at check out. This is another great way to save money on amazon. The best part though is you can stack the coupon with other deals, so for example you can use free shipping, a coupon and subscribe and save to save money.

I have learned a few new ways of shopping from Amazon by reading this. What annoys me though is when I try to buy and because I live in Australia they will not ship many of the articles here.
One particular item I was looking at this morning was under thirty dollars on Amazon. In Australia companies are charging $250.00 for same thing. So I left them a review saying it is disgusting and price is just from greed. I just could not help myself. But I love Amazon myself.
