How to Setup Computer TV

By Edited Oct 4, 2016 0 0

It is rather easy to watch TV on your computer. Actually it takes only a few minutes and can be done in only 2 or 3 steps.

Things You Will Need

Computer
Internet Connection - High speed is best

Step 1

Find the right software
There are so many different computer tv software options out there. Some of them are great while others are poor. By taking a few minutes to review some fo the best, you will save yourself some hassle in the future.

By finding a good solution early, you can avoid wasting money and time switching from a bad software option. The best options run from $30-45 and are well worth it as they allow unlimited viewing.

Step 2

Start watching
Download and install the software and start watching. It really is that easy.

If you have a digital TV, you may want to read the next step for watching online TV on your main television set.

Step 3

Get the right cable
If your computer and TV both have an HDMI port, make sure you use it to connect the two. Otherwise you can use different connections depending on your TVs input options. HDMI cables will carry both the highest quality video signal and sound, so you can stream with only 1 cable which is very sleek.

Tip: Do not buy the HDMI cable at your local electronics store! It is amazing how overpriced cables ate Best Buy, Wal-mart and similar stores are. A 10 foot HDMI cable at Best Buy could run you $60-100. You can find a 3 foot, 6 foot, 10 foot, 15 foot, or longer if you need for less than $5 on amazon. I reciently purchased a 15 foot for $3,50 and saved $100+.
You really can be watching computer tv in no time. If you have a computer with a high-speed internet connection, then you are ready to go. Happy Watching1
