By | Oct 5, 2009 | 1 Comments | Rating: 0

Stress is probably the most common cause of overeating which affects millions of people, causes them to gain too much weight, feel miserable about themselves, and even damage their health.

The modern life is full of stress so if you don't know how to handle it, you may feel the urge to find comfort in food. But this is a short term comfort and you usually end up feeling worse afterward.

So, take my advice and use the following tips in this article to help you overcome stress eating.

Things You Will Need

All you need is the willingness to follow these tips:

1. Avoid stressful people - Some people may be excellent friends, but if they create stress in your life, they're not good for you at the moment. Avoid them for the time being until you get stress eating under control.

2. Limit stressful situations - Obviously, if you job is stressful, I can't tell you to quit, but try to avoid those situations at work when you feel the most stress. Don't watch the news or financial shows if they create stress. You know what stresses you out so avoid it.

3. Exercise - Working out is a great way to reduce stress.

4. Get a buddy - Whenever you're stressed out and feel the urge to overeat, you'd do well to have someone to call and vent out your stress to. Get someone you can trust and let him or her in on your stress eating problem. It will do you a world of good.

To overcome stress eating will take some time, but it can be done. The power is already inside of you. All you need to do is tap into it.

I truly believe that you can stop overeating if you want to. I hope this short article helps.

One of my ways to de-stress is to get alone and recuperate, though occasionally may be tempted to eat my favorites.
