How to Take the Stink and Mess Out Of Picking up Dog Poop

By Edited Jul 15, 2016 0 0

No matter how much you love your dog but picking up dog poop every day may easily reduce the amount of love that you have for the quadruped. It is not only messy but the whole job stinks even after you are done with it. Then if the dog has not been toilet trained properly, chances are that you end up picking up dog poop from your garden, backyard or even the kids' room!

But the world is full of innovations and everyday there are gadgets and tools being introduced that add more convenience to our lives and help us live stress-free. The job of picking up dog poop has also undergone some great innovations which can easily take the stink and mess out of the daily job. Here are some options:

  • Invest in a gadget aptly named the 'pooper scooper'. The device is designed in such a way that all you have to do is to bend down a little, scoop the poop and dump it in the nearest trashcan. This device ensures that your hands are spared from touching the dog poop. But the downside of this process is that sometimes dog poops do not settle down well in the trash can and after sometime is likely to emit stink enough to wake up the neighborhood.
  • So we move on to the next option. The perfumed poop bag. Incredible as it may sound, there are perfumed poop bags available where the perfume helps in deodorizing the poop. The best part about these perfume poop bags is that you can make them at home with diapers used for babies! The bags can then be dumped in the trash can and there is no chance of bad odor filling up the neighborhood.
  • It might be a problem if the dog has soggy poop which gets mashed somewhere during the cleaning process. To avoid this unpleasant situation, invest in a sold dog waster cleaner which is equipped with a hard back. This prevents any mashing of the dog poop while picking up dog poop.
  • Of course you could nip the problem in the bud if your dog has a good digestive system and subsequently his poop is more manageable in terms of clearing. There are also chemicals available which remove the stench from dog poop.

No matter which of the above methods you use, picking up dog poop can be accomplished without the accompanying stench and mess, provided you use your creativity, toilet train your dog to regularize his bowel habits and invest in some simple gadgets and devices. Your initiative would be appreciated by your family as well as your neighbors. May you continue loving your dog forever?
