How to Work the Current Fashion Trends at Work

By Edited Aug 29, 2016 0 0

Summer is sizzling, and so are its fashion trends. When it comes to working these trends at work, it’s easy. Here are five tips to help you have fun getting dressed each work week morning, and make you look completely in trend.

Tip 1-Wear Leather

Leather? Yes, leather! It’s not just for fall. In fact, leather has been featured by all top designers showcasing their summer 2013 collection. A leather sleeveless peplum top of flirty leather trumpet skirt is perfect to wear to work because it makes any outfit look expensive and luxurious. Plus, it warms you up when the office air conditioning is on full blast!

Tip 2-Try Translucent

Clear, see through items are back in a big way. Obviously you want to skip the sheer see-through tops, but its fair game when it comes to accessories. Pick up a pair of see-though base wedges or translucent thick strapped heels. You could even pick up a brightly colored clear tote to rock this trend appropriately.

Tip 3-Shop Bold Stripes

Contrary to popular belief, stripes are flattering. It just depends how you wear them. This summer, bold stripes running vertically, horizontally, and even diagonally are completely in vogue. In order to wear them at the office, shop for a suit that has thick black and white stripes running vertically for a more modern take on your office “uniform.” Or, shop for a sleeveless shift dress that has angled stripes to help you create an hourglass look.

Tip 4-Pop Some Pastel

Pretty pastel tones are carrying over from spring into summer. You can button up a three quarter sleeve fitted pastel button down top, which tucks fabulously into a pencil skirt or dress pants. Or, you can add a pop of pastel with your accessories. Wrap a silky pastel toned chevron scarf around you or layer your wrist with pretty pastel enamel bracelets.

Tip 5-Mix Prints

Turn heads at the office by mixing some prints. Go for punchy floral skirts and tuck in a thin striped black and white t-shirt into it. Yes, the two prints are different but what makes mixing prints ok is the color palette. As long as one portion of your apparel is stacked with a neutral tone, establishing a neutral base; anything goes on the other half with colors and prints!

By following these five summer trend tips, you are sure to be the most stylish at the office!
