Peach Pound Cake

   Georgia is the Peach State, so of course we all know how to use fresh grown Georgia peaches in so many wonderful recipes. I'm sure this one for Georgia Peach Pound Cake, will delight everyone and get you many raves.

Cream Butter and SugarIngredients:
2-cups white granulated sugar
1-cup real butter
6-large eggs
2-teaspoons vanilla extract
3-cups all-purpose flour
1/4-teaspoon baking soda
1/4-salt
1/2-cup sour cream
2-cups diced fresh Georgia peaches
confectioners' sugar optional

Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour tube pan.

 

In a large mixing bowl, cream the 1 cup butter and 2 cups sugar until light and fluffy. Add the 6 eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition.

(hint here: have the eggs at room temperature).
Beat in vanilla extract. Set aside.

Add Sour CreamCombine the 3 cups flour, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Add to the first mixture and add the 1/2 sour cream a little at a time, blending well after each addition. Fold in the fresh fruit. Pour into prepared tube pan.


Bake in oven for 60 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before removing from baking pan, invent to cake plate.
Cool well. Dust with confectioners sugar, if desired.
