How to build a fire

Building a fire can be very fun and rewarding. It is a great activity when you are camping in the woods.

Step 1 The first step is to gather all the materials you are going to need. You will need tinder (dry pine needles, bark, and sticks the length of a match), Kindling (twigs as wide as a finger or your thumb), and fuel (logs bigger than kindling and your thumb).
Step 2 Now that you have gathered all the materials you are going to need to arrange them. Place three pieces of kindling in the shape of an A. Then put some tinder near the cross of the center A bar. Then light the tinder from underneath.
Step 3 For the last step add some kindling as if making a tepee. Wait for each piece to catch on fire before placing in a new one. As the fire gets stronger add some fuel slowly one piece at a time.
