A dog should get its ears cleaned from time to time just like humans. Since a dog's ears are very much delicate, take extra precautions while cleaning them. Don't try to clean a dog's year if it is infected, instead take him to the nearby vet. Here are a few tips on how to clean a dog's ears.

Things You Will Need

Cotton pad, ear cleaning solution for dogs

Step 1 First of all, Select an ear wash solution for dogs. You can use a dog ear wash solution available in the market. Diluted vinegar or diluted hydrogen peroxide also will do.
Step 2 Pour the solution into a bowl. Keep the cotton pad in the solution to soak up a little. Squeeze the cotton pad so that it is wet but not dripping.
Step 3 Rub your dog's ear gently with the cotton pad. Massage using the cotton pad in your dog's outer ear removing ear wax and dirt. Don't go too much inside the ear canal as it can cause hearing problems to your dog.
Step 4 Don't keep the dog's ear wet after cleaning. This can cause infections. Allow it to shake off the excess moisture.
