Step ups are another great exercise for your lower body. Like a few other exercises you do not need to have expensive equipment or even have to leave home. Yes, you can do the following exercise from the comfort of your own home.
1. Use your stairs or any step that is slightly high. Do a basic step by stepping with right foot and then down and then the left foot and then down. Repeat 20-30 times or for as long as you want.
2. Now doing the same steps as above step up and down much faster without stopping. When you get tired, stop and rest. After a mini break repeat again.
3. Climb up the stairs slowly, one stair at a time, all the way to the top. Repeat 10 times.
4. Now climb the stairs, one step at a time but much faster. Repeat 10 times.
5. Climb up the stairs but take two or even three steps at a time. You should feel a slight burn at the back of your legs.
6. Start at the bottom of the stairs. Use your right foot and place the foot on the second step. Bend slightly forward, the left leg should be straight. Feel the burn on the back of the left leg. Take the right foot down and repeat with the left leg.
To make these exercises more challenging you could use dumbbells or hold two bottles of mineral water. So you will be able to work the upper body too. Repeat these exercises as often as you can to get good results.
Good luck!
