Just like the health of your physical body is important, the health of your mind is also important. Our mind is always thinking or analyzing and thus creating new thoughts. We create around 60,000 thoughts per day. According to the thoughts created, our emotions keep fluctuating. Doing Meditation helps to clear the mind and helps to still this constant fluctuation of the emotions.There are many elaborate ways to practice meditation to clear the mind as well as for other spiritual reasons. We are often so busy we feel there is no time to stop and meditate. But meditation actually gives you more time by making your mind calmer and more focused. The following ten or fifteen minute meditation as explained below can help you to overcome your stress and find some inner peace and balance.

Things You Will Need

A quiet place for yourself. An object to focus on. A few minutes of your time.

Step 1

image1543 Sit in a quiet place and relax your body in a comfortable posture.

Step 2

Focus on an object of your choice. It can be a picture, or a branch of a tree outside a window, or even your own breathing.

Step 3

image1544 Do not try to think about anything else. Watch and observe only the object. If it is a flower or a branch, focus on the texture, color or form. If your focusing on your breathing, you can close your eyes. Just observe and be aware.

Step 4

When other thoughts interfere, either ignore them or just let them pass. If your mind wanders away, bring back the focus to the object. This practice might be difficult the first few times, for our mind is always wandering and thinking. But constant effort put in keeping the thoughts away or trying to ignore them will slowly reduce the number of thoughts that keep interfering. As a result you will experience more peace and calmness.
