Depending upon where you live, dealing with pesky fruit flies can be a pain. No matter how many you exterminate, they seem to never go away. In this article I will show you a few ways to get rid of them quickly and easily.


Things You Will Need

A Clean Home

A funnel

Jar Container


Step 1 Fruit flies are attracted not only to over ripened and fallen fruits and vegetables but also breads and vinegar. Make sure that you exercise a little prevention in order to minimize the chance of having a fruit fly problem. Store all fruits and vegetables properly and use up any over ripened varieties quickly.
Step 2

Keep your trash can lids secured tightly with lids and be sure to pick up any fallen or ripened fruits or vegetables outside as soon as you notice them.  Keep your houseclean, especially your kitchen in order to thwart the fruit flies as well.


Step 3

If you have an immediate issue with fruit flies in your home, put bits of fruit inside of a jar and insert a metal or plastic funnel on the top of the jar. The fruit flies will be attracted to what’s in the jar and the funnel will allow the fruit flies to get trapped inside but not fly back out.
