Purchasing parts for your vehicle can be very frustrating. First you need to know what part you are purchasing. Than from that point there is a long list of questions to be answered. You need to know all the correct information about your vehicle. Every vehicle is different.

Things You Will Need

Information you need to know about your vehicle; year, make, model, engine size, automatic or standard and possibly the vin number.

Step 1

When looking for the year of your vehicle; open the car door and you will see a sticker on the inside of door. You will see the exact manufacturers date. For example 3/94.

Step 2

Open your car hood; there should be a lever inside of vehicle for you to pop the hood. Standing in fron tof vehicle; with your hand reach under hood to slide lever and lift vehicle hood. Now look for a sticker with information about your vehicle. This sticker will tell you the exact engine size.

Step 3

Look on the outside of vehicle and on the body you will find the make and model.

Step 4

Some vehicles you will need the vin. number in order to get the right parts. There are two ways to find this information. This information will be on your insurance card and registration.

Having all correct information will make it so much easier when you go to a part store to get auto parts for your vehicle. Also will make the process much faster. Before you go to a part store; make sure you are prepared. Write all information down on paper and carry with you.
