Step 1 Put your indoor lights on a timer and then install motion detecting flood lights.
Step 2 Trim trees and bushes around your house so that it is more easier to see.
Step 3 Cur tree branches near windows, a lot of thieves will climb these branches in order to enter your home.
Step 4 If you go away have a neighbor get your mail and newspaper.
Step 5 Keep your curtains slightly open. This will make it look like someone is home inside the house.
Step 6 Lock all the windows and doors. Make sure to lock all the deadbolts as well.
Step 7 If you have more than one vehicle try to leave at least one car in the driveway at all times.
