How to make a German pancake

By Edited Jun 25, 2016 1 1

German pancakes are very popular and very delicious. They are also really easy to make. The only ingredients you will need are flour, milk and eggs. You can make your German pancake with fruit or even with cheese and eggs. Many people prefer to put cheese, eggs, sausage and bacon into their German pancake although using fruit is very healthy and gives it a great taste!

Things You Will Need

flour, milk and eggs

Step 1

First, take out a skillet pan and melt some butter inside so the pancake doesn't stick. Allow the pan to heat up for several minutes before pouring your batter.

Step 2

Next, mix two cups of flour, 1/2 cup of milk and two eggs into a large bowl and mix thoroughly, making sure there aren't any clumps of flour left in the bowl.

Step 3

After that, pour your pancake batter in a skillet. Make sure to use only a small amount of batter so the pancake is large in the pan but very thin.

Step 4

Once your pancake starts to bubble, flip your German pancake over so both sides are cooked. You can tell that they are both cooked when both sides are golden brown.

Step 5

Cut up strawberries into small diced pieces so they can fit easily inside your pancake. Whole strawberries will taste just as good, but they may give your German pancake an awkward shape.

Step 6

After the base of your German pancake is cooked, add whipped cream, strawberries and syrup. You could even substitute your syrup with peanut butter or your favorite type of jam. Many people also add blueberries, cherries or mandarin oranges; depending on what fruit you like the best.

Step 7

Roll up your German pancake and eat it like a burrito. No need to use a fork or spoon. A German pancake is a delicious type of finger food. For the most part, German pancakes are a healthy breakfast, so be sure to cook these for your friends and family for them to try. Stuff their favorite food inside the delicious German pancake. The best thing about German pancakes is that there isn't any rule to what you can and cannot add.
