Oreo Cookie Milkshake - How To Make Them

Oreo cookie milkshakes are amazing, fun and luxurious drinks which are often sold in American diners at incredibly high prices. For those of you who have tried this classic, you will love this recipe, and for those who haven't they will regret stumbling upon this page as they become addicted to this delicious beverage. This milkshake is quick and easy to make and can often be made from the ingredients that are already in the house whilst using Oreo cookies. Oreo cookie milkshakes can be served as a drink, dessert or just to satisfy your own sweet craving. Milkshakes are great ways of getting growing children to consume milk. Milk is an excellent source of calcium, an important mineral needed for the development of healthy bones and teeth.

My recipe will result in you producing a rich, thick, yummy drink that will guarantee you becoming the favourite in your household.  This recipe can easily be altered to make the serving quanities that are necessary.

Items needed (Serves 2)

  • Blender
  • 400 ml of milk
  • 9 Oreo cookies
  • 4 Scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup
  • 2 Tall glasses
  • 2 Straws

Instructions

1.Set aside one Oreo cookie which will be used later for decorative purposes. Crush the remaining Oreo cookies into crumbs using your hands and place into the blender. You may want to leave a few big chunks to give the milkshake a thicker consistency. If you have children around it is a good idea to allow them to carry out this 'very important task'.

2.Place milk and ice-cream into the blender that contains the crushed cookies. The amount of ice-cream used will determine the thickness of this milkshake. If you would like to increase the thickness simply add more ice-cream, or if you would like to reduce the thickness you may add more milk. I have found that vanilla ice-cream works best for this recipe because you get a hint of vanilla in the milkshake and other flavours can become overpowering dampening down the taste of the Oreo cookies.

3.Blend the mixture for 1 minute at medium speed to make sure that the contents of the milkshake have been thoroughly mixed through. If you would like the milkshake to be even thicker you can blend for slightly longer.

4.  Decorate the inner portion of the tall glass by drizzling chocolate syrup.5. Pour the contents into the glass and decorate the top of the milkshake with fresh whipped cream. I find cream from a canister is the best approach.

6. Place half of an Oreo cookie on top of the cream.

7.Serve with a straw and enjoy!!!
