Firstly, if you need a way to make extra ice without buying extra ice cube trays that you might not use again, consider using egg cartons as a neat alternative to buying new plastic ones

If you want crystal clear ice cubes for your party or your own enjoyment, boil your tap water before freezing it in your ice cube trays. You can get refreshing clear ice cubes from using non carbonated spring water instead of boiling tap water.

Step 3

If you need an easy way to make crushed ice without having the cubes slide everywhere, purchase some Popsicle molds available at many grocery stores and department retailers. The thicker and longer "fudge sickle" type works the best. Use plain water to freeze in the molds and when ready, take the ice out of the mold and place in between the fold of a clean, lint free towel. Take a hammer of meat tenderizer and crush the ice carefully.
