How to recognize heart attack symptoms in females

By Edited Jan 22, 2014 0 0

This article is written to help women learn to recognize the dangerous symptoms and signs of a heart attack. Too many times women ignore dangerous heart attack symptoms and it can cost them their life. I am female and although I survived a heart attack, it is due to ignoring and not recognizing the symptoms that I almost did not survive.

Things You Will Need

A few minutes of reading time.

Step 1

Pay attention to any unusual symptom that arises within your female body and do not be so quick to brush them off. Pay attention and notice whether you are having more than one symptom during the same time period. Another symptom of a pending heart attack could possibly be an overall aching in one of your arms and it may not be a very painful ache. This ache could feel like an arthritic ache and not be in a specific area but could be over a large area of your arm. It could include aching or tingling feelings in your fingers or hands.

Step 2

Another symptom of a pending heart attack could possibly be an aching pain located in your back or shoulder blade area. This pain may feel like a pulled muscle or be less painful than that. You may be tempted to brush this off as being from over-exertion, but please, do not ignore this symptom if you are having other symptoms along with it.

Step 3

Another symptom of a pending heart attack could possibly be an unusual feeling of something being wrong. Women have intuition and if you get this feeling, please, do not ignore it. Pay attention to your body and notice if you are having any other symptoms along with this feeling of impending doom.

Step 4

One of these symptoms could possibly be a numb feeling in your arms, hands or fingers, or in any body part at all. Pay attention to this symptom and notice if you are having any other symptoms at all.

Step 5

One more symptom of a pending heart attack could possibly be a little or a lot of sweating that lasts for only fleeting moments. You may wish to pass these off as hot flashes if you are middle aged, but please, do not. The symptoms of a heart attack in females differ from men's symptoms. I had all of these symptoms and brushed them all off. Once I realized that I had too many symptoms going on, I decided to go to the ER to get checked. I really thought I had a pulled back muscle and just thought that the sweating for just a few seconds was a hot flash due to my age of 50 years old. I did not feel much severe pain at all. It was just enough to annoy me. The feeling of doom is what really made me decide to go get checked. It turned out that I was having a heart attack, still in progress, and I was taken to surgery for stent placement. That aching back did not stop until that surgery. Please learn the signs of heart attacks for women and memorize them. It could save your life as it saved my own.
