Cellulite is the formation of fatty nodules in different regions of the body. Since the regions with cellulite seem like the surface of a citrus fruit, this condition is also being referred to as "orange peel".

90 percent of women suffer from this skin condition, but only a few manage to control it. If you belong to the 10 percent of privileged women who do not have cellulite, you should feel blessed! However, it is advisable that you apply some preventive natural treatments so that your body is free from cellulite formation.

Being overweight does not necessary imply that you will develop cellulite. Many women who are lean can still get cellulite. Medical researches  have shown that the causes of this skin condition include :

1. Fluid Retention
2. Poor blood circulation
3. Hormonal changes
4. Sedentary lifestyle
5. Bad habits, such as drinking too much coffee, alcoholic beverages
6. Stress
7. Hereditary factor

There are a few ways to remove, or least reduce the formation of cellulite. But before you attempt expensive treatments, you should control this skin condition by modifying your habits first.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to help in the elimination of liquids. It may be initially  uncomfortable if you don't have the habit of drinking much water. But once you get used to it, you will get to see the benefits of it. Besides fighting cellulite, you will also gain a brighter and healthier complexion by drinking plenty of water.

Consume more fruits and vegetables. They have high levels of antioxidants and help to remove toxins from your body. Reduce the intake of food which are high in fats, flour and avoid candy. Cut down on your soft drinks, since they increase fluid retention and therefore generate cellulite. Citrus fruits like lemons help to get rid of toxins. You may consider drinking lemon juice after your meals instead of soft drinks.

Generally, doing some aerobic exercises like jogging, swimming etc. help to eliminate toxins from your body by sweating them out. You are also burning your body fats and replacing them with muscle mass. If you do not like going to the gym, go for a stroll in the park for at least half an hour a day. You will feel great breathing in the fresh air while at the same time you are removing those cellulite from your body

Get Rid of those Bad habits

If you smoke, drop this habit. Not only will this prevents and removes cellulite, it will also contribute to the well being of your overall physical health. Avoid taking food high in fats or cholesterol that could lead to the blockage of your arteries and restrict the smooth circulation of your blood system. Do not drink too much coffee as it is a vasoconstrictor. If you must drink this beverage to perk yourself up, try taking only one cup a day.

Have a Cold Show

Taking a cold shower reduces cellulite and helps improve blood circulation. If you do not like to be in a cold water shower for too long, at least flush the regions with cellulite with cold water for 1 or 2 minutes.

Natural Herbs - Gotu kola (Centella asiatica)

Studies have shown that Gotu Kola is one of the natural herb that fight cellulite because it helps eliminate fluid retention and the toxins that cause it. It also keeps your skin radiant. Gotu kola is available as powdered dry leaves, pills, extracts, lotions and tea. Take note that those with liver disease should avoid this herb.

If you have the strong commitment and perseverance to switch to good habits starting from today, your skin will gradually become smoother and free of annoying cellulite dimpled look.
