How to Stop Wasting Your Time and Start Using it Efficiently.

By 0 0

When days are as short as they are, its quite easy to waste most of them doing nothing or doing things that aren't important. By the end of this article you will have lots of time to get more things done today. All you need to do is stop these four bad time consuming habits and stop wasting time today.

1. Wake up earlier

I know you're not a morning person, and you probably can't even get up early enough to make it to work in time. But you can't imagine how much time waking up earlier saves you. Say you you have to get to work by 9 o'clock. You wake up at 8, brush your teeth, take a shower, put your clothes on, eat breakfast while reading the paper, and drive to work. You did nothing of importance. Now say you wake up at seven, you brush your teeth, take a shower, eat breakfast, check off a few tasks from your to-do list, watch some TV, and take your time driving to work and maybe even get there early.

2. Schedule times for email & social media

How much time do you waste on social media? How much time does reading and replying to those emails you get? If I take a five-minute break and use any of my social media, the next time I look at the clock an hour has already past. The best solution to this problem is to schedule time to use these. It could be in your extra time in the morning or before you go to bed. Anytime your free and wasting a bit of time won't do any harm.

3. Make a to-do list

Making a to-do list doesn't have to be done every morning and it doesn't have to take much time at all. Having a to-do list almost guarantees you will remember everything you need to do and get it done. Don't you hate it when you finally sit down to relax then remember that you had to do something and forgot to. As I already mentioned you don't have to sit down and write a to-do list each and every morning. You can simply write the task down in a notebook or on a to-do list app on your phone every time you get or remember a task.

4. Stop procrastinating

Procrastinating is putting off and delaying important and more urgent tasks in order to do less important, not urgent tasks. You probably can already see why this is a bad idea and a waste of time. To stop procrastinating all you have to do is start. As Newton told us many, many years ago: objects in motion remain in motion and objects at rest remain at rest. All you have to do is start moving or start to do something and it will be easier to continue.

These are just four of the available ways to save your time. But by waking up earlier, scheduling time for emails and social media and not procrastinating you will be using the four most effective ways to get more time.
