How to throw a baby shower Part 3 Games

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Throwing a baby shower is awesome! Here are a few games that have worked for me.

Things You Will Need

Pencils

computer with printer

paper

Yarn/Scissors

Make it fun..not expensive!

Step 1

Baby Diaper Raffle

On your invitations, invite guests to bring a package of diapers to be entered in a diaper raffle. The concept is easy bring a bag of diapers, get a raffle ticket. Keep a small bowl or jar at your party and each guest who brings diapers give them a ticket you can tear in half , at the end of the party pick a winner and give them a small token of your gratitude. It doesn't have to be expensive, it can be something like a small perfume ,candle, manicure set, bath pouf w/ some body wash etc..you can purchase some cute stuff at dollar stores that would make perfect gifts. You can spend as much or as little as you want. I actually purchased a nice set of Christmas glassware tha was on clearance , I spent a little more for the raffle because diapers are not cheap. You can use your judgement on that however. I got my raffle tickets from a website that had some awesome free raffle tickets check out http://www.best-baby-shower.com so....cute! Print them out and voila!

Draw the baby

This game you will need paper and pencils! Now who doesn't have that stuff laying around?. Give each guest a piece of paper and pencil. Have each guest draw a picture of what they think the baby will look like. The catch is they have to place the paper on their forehead! This is a fun game , it doesn't cost much and its easy. When everyone is done drawing hand all the papers to the mom to be and she will pick the one she likes best. That guest should get a small prize, maybe some candy or another small trinket from the hostess. Its your call.

Guess the girth

The mom to be LOVES this game! Take my word for it! Its hilarious! All you need is some yarn or some string and a mom to be! Pass around the yarn and a scissors to each guest. Each guest will take off a length of string or yarn and guesstimate the size of "girth" or roundness of the mothers belly! After everyone gets their string cut off , the mother will take each piece of string one at a time and wrap it around her and see who comes closest. The one who is closest will win a small prize. Some more ideas are nail polish, soaps, cookies, perfumes, bathsprays, lotions, picture frames, etc...

Name Game

On your computer or with a pen print out the baby's name at the top of some paper. Give each guest a piece of paper and pencil and have them make as many words as they can out of the baby's name or any other word you wish. You can for instance us "baby shower" as a word or "Diaper Bag" Give them about 3 minutes and set a timer if you wish or just look at your watch. After 3 minutes say stop! And whoever has the most words can receive another small gift if you wish.

There are a ton of games available to you on the internet, there are games that are easy, some are complicated, messy or just plain stupid whatever mood your in, you decide whats best for you.!

Throwing a Baby Shower for a friend or relative is a gratifying thing. It can be expensive, or it can be moderate. The main thing to remember is the guests are there to honor the mom to be. It is a very exciting thing for a mother to be to have her friends and family around to make her feel special . Make it her day.

Tips & Warnings

Buy a cheap spiral notebook, keep your notes and ideas written down, keep track of spending it can be overwhelming. You don't have to be rich to throw a party just smart! Use your pc and printer to cut down on expenses on invitations, games, even decorations . Use your imagination you can do anything you want! A word of warning* Don't have too many games, people get bored easily and if there is food and cake waiting they will get restless.
