I Just Got a Roomba and WOW!

By Edited May 14, 2016 0 0

I just got a Roomba-- and WOW am I impressed with it. Let me give you a run-down of my experiences so far. I have wanted a Roomba since the first time I heard about it-- an autonomous vacuum cleaning robot. You choose the days you want it to clean, and it just does it! No questions asked; no complaining; no bribing! The only downside.. I've been putting it off because it costs $400.

I recently moved to a new apartment that I resolved to keep clean so after pushing off this Roomba purchase for two years, I finally bought one to try and it has been phenomenal! Now I don't even know how I lived without it. I must have been living in so much filth before considering how much dust, dirt, debris, and hair the Roomba is able to capture every time. It has no problem transitioning from my kitchen tiles, to my living room hardwood floors, to my wood block carpet, to my bedroom rug. Basically, it has no problems with different surfaces. Apparently it also has ledge detecting technology. I don't have a staircase (and I haven't been curious enough to set it on my table and see what happens...) so I haven't tested this feature but it seems this company has thought of everything.

Have a dog that has a tendency to track mud into the house? You can also consider getting a Scooba (floor scrubbing robot) or Braava (floor mopping robot) as well. If you have a pool, you can get the Mirra (pool cleaning robot) or if you own a house and need your gutters cleaned, get the Looj (gutter cleaning robot). Have an army of these housekeeping robots and keep your living area clean and pristine.

I personally chose the Roomba 630, which is the lowest base model because I was a little wary about the price tag of $350 versus what it offered to do. I guess I just was not a believer yet. Reflecting back on it, this is one of the best $350 I've ever spent considering the time I don't have to personally clean and psychologically get myself to clean.

Roomba has six different models to choose from (prices ranging from $350 to $600) depending on the features you want like:

  • HEPA filter
  • Advanced dirt detection technology
  • 7 day scheduled cleaning
  • Remote

I got the 630 and think it is great. What are you planning on getting? If you already have one, what do you think about it?
