I Need a Sewing Machine for My Quilting Projects

Quilters can quilt by hand or sewing machine. Some use a combination of both. Many quilters would rather have a sewing machine designed for quilting than use a regular and inadequate sewing machine that cannot handle quilted material. Retailing at around $160, it's a great buy.

If you're looking for additional features not found in inexpensive sewing machines, you want the Bernina Activa 220. You have the ability to create twisting or winding and stippling stitch designs with your quilt by using the Bernina Activa 220 "free hand system". This computerized sewing machine has an LCD screen to assist with selecting stitch width and length. An internal memory can maintain the same stitch for the quilt for your entire project. This high end machine retails for about $1100.

Singer, the sewing machine giant has the Singer 7463 Confidence. This machine has a heavy duty metal frame that allows it the ability to sew through thick or heavy quilts with ease. Containing 30 different stitch patterns and an automatic needle threader, this was created with the ultimate quilter in mind. Quilting is much quicker with the automatic needle threader than other machines that don't have this attribute.Retailing at approximately $250 it is a very nice buy for your money.
