I know the feeling. You feel like you're not going anywhere... you're not getting ahead. It really sucks. It all comes down to making progress on your goals, your dreams. This is what I'm going to talk about in this article.
It all boils down to taking action on what really matters to you in life. Brian Tracy says that as we make progress towards our goals, our brain secretes endorphins which makes us feel good. Our brain wants us to succeed. That's why it's so important to take massive action every single day to get closer to your goals. If you don't, you'll regret it later.
If you don't have goals or dreams, it's time to pick up a pen and paper and start taking notes. Better yet, you should use that pen and paper to write down your most important goal right now. What really matters to you the most? What 1 thing would change your life if you achieved it? These are all questions you have to ask yourself so you can become clear on what you want from life.
If you do have goals, are you getting closer to reaching those goals every day? Why or why not? Don't make excuses. You're either getting closer to your dreams or you're not. You have to take responsibility for your reality. No one will do the work for you. You have to do it. You owe at least that much to yourself so get out there and take action!
What kind of action are we talking about here? In The Success Principles, Jack Canfield explains that it's important to take at least 5 actions every day that get you closer to your most important goals. As long as you take 5 steps a day, you will eventually reach your destination(guaranteed).
I know what it's like to feel like you're going in circles and that's what it's like for most of us when we don't have a plan. The best thing you could do for yourself is to create a game plan or find someone else's game plan and implement it. Find out who is successful at what you want to be doing, buy their books, etc... and take action on what you've learned from them.
When you don't have a game plan, that's when you waste massive time. It's crucial to know where you're going otherwise you'll just get distracted by the next biggest thing and never really get anywhere.
One last tip that I have is to take the time to write down everything and anything you can think of that could get you closer to your goals. Write down every single action that comes to mind that will help you make progress. Then, when you're ready, take those actions 1 by 1 and this way you will be back on a roll in no time and you will begin to start getting closer to your goals.
So, in this article, I've talked to you about the feeling of not going anywhere and I've made suggestions of how to get out of a rut.
