Shopping for a snorkel vacation can often be as much fun as the vacation itself. There are some great buys from stores like Wal-Mart, where you can get everything you need at very reasonable prices. There are also exclusive online snorkel stores like snorkel-mart dot com that have a great range of products. You can get a mask fins snorkel set for as little as $30 and as much as $85 for a professional's set, depending on what your budget is.

Snorkeling Tips At No Charge: Free-Cautions

Some sage advice is due round about now. First rule, never snorkel alone - even professionals would never do this unless it's an emergency. You will always need a buddy if you even get stung by a jelly fish or get cramps under water. Second, some protective gear like a lycra top or full body suit is suggested if you're prone to rashes. Remember, underwater creatures don't really want you there and will avoid you for the most part. However, the more curious or aggressive ones may have defense mechanisms that your body can't handle. I was just on Maui in August. Incredible snorkeling there! Molokini crater & various beaches.

Puako beach on the Big Island is my favorite actually - I should probably do a Hawaiian snorkel article.

I love to snorkel, and have at several spots in the Caribbean. Trunk Bay in St. John was particularly beautiful. I've only been to Hawaii once, and with so much to see and do, I didn't get the chance to snorkel. But it's on my must do list for the next trip.

Ahh very nice. I'm hoping my next tropical vacation will be to the Caribbean.

Hawaii definitely has enough to keep you busy!

Try a Caribbean cruise. They're an awesome way to sample the Caribbean; see what islands you like best and so forth.
