Indoor Propane Heaters
One thing that more people are considering these days, when it comes to internal heating, is the propane heater. There are quite a few models of the propane space heater that are designed for indoor use, and that comply with all safety requirements in order to make them safe for home use. Times when it might be handy to use a portable heater are if you want to heat up a room that is not already heated by your central heating system, or when you have added on a room that doesn't have built in central heating. In these cases, it is always nice to have a portable space heater on hand for those chilly days and nights.
Portable propane heaters tend to be a bit cheaper to run that most models of electric space heaters, especially the non-radiant electric heaters. While they may not have been as convenient to use in times past, now days the modern propane space heater is generally very easy to use, as well as safe and portable. Just think, they're also a very handy appliance to have on hand should the electricity go off during winter, especially if you rely on electricity to power your heating system. In many ways it is always good to have an alternatively fuelled heater than your normal heating system, just in case the inevitable happens during the depth of winter. You'll sure be glad you have an extra heater then.
The propane garage heater has been around for years, and some of the most popular are the wall mounted propane heaters that are set up high. This makes for ultimate work area available, and as garages are usually a bit drafty, poor ventilation is not normally an issue when installing a propane heater in the garage.
Propane also seems to be the fuel of choice when it comes to heating up patios and outside areas. Typically the propane patio heater has the propane gas bottle in the bottom section of the heater. These type of patio heaters are very portable, with many of them coming with wheels so they can be easily wheeled from place to place. As they are used outdoors, there's no problem with ventilation, and they can be used safely and for long periods of time if you like, without causing any problems whatsoever.
While safety is an issue with propane heating, especially if it is not installed properly, these days most propane heating used indoors has to comply with quite a few stringent safety measures. Some of the biggest danger lies when the portable propane heaters are used in tents, campers or other small hunting lodges. If you do use a portable propane heater in your camping hut, or any other small enclosed space, be sure you ventilate the area well.
