Infant Hulk Costume versus Infant Wolverine Costume: Which Halloween Costume Is Better For Your Infant?

By | Jan 3, 2012 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

If you are looking for an infant Halloween Costume for your child this year, it is possible that you have narrowed down the selection to two famous super heroes: The Incredible Hulk or Wolverine. If so, you may be asking yourself which infant costume is better for your kid. While that decision may ultimately be determined by your individual preferences, you could make that choice by who you think would win a fight between the two super powers. While that hypothetical may, at first blush, seem too close to call, Hulk and Wolverine actually battled it out in “The Incredible Hulk #181,” which was published in November 1974.

If you know anything about the story of the Hulk, you know that he has not had the best of luck. First exposed to gamma rays that transformed Dr. Robert Bruce Banner from that skinny, unassuming scientist, into the gigantic, raving mad behemoth loving referred to as the “Hulk.” If that were not enough, the government then blindly chased Banner (and the Hulk when transformed into that form) across the globe demanding that he pay for the damage caused by the Hulk, as well trying to use the Hulk for its own purposes.

In issue number 181, the Hulk was asked by Marie Cartier (who was extremely beautiful and caught the attention of Banner) to fly to Quebec, Canada to help find a cure for the Wendigo, an albino monster that stalked the wilderness. However, when he got there, instead of helping the Wendigo find a cure for his ailments, the Hulk found him battling it in a surprisingly close fight.

If that were not enough, during the heat of the Hulk versus Wendigo battle, a new character who referred to himself as “Wolverine” showed up and immediately jumped into the battle. What the Hulk did not know was that this new character, who was dressed in a brightly color uniform, was a secret governmental agent also called “Weapon X” who had been sent there to take down the Hulk by whatever means necessary. Upon jumping into the fray, Wolverine bounced back and forth between the Hulk and Wendigo, battling both with such speed and ferocity that the Hulk could not help but be impressed. As a result, the Hulk and Wolverine quickly teamed up to knock out their common opponent.

Taking his charge seriously to capture the Hulk “by any means necessary,” when the Hulk and Wolverine took a second to admire their handy work, the Wolverine cheated and opportunistically took advantage of the Hulk’s distraction. The two of the battled well into the next morning.

However, while the Hulk and Wolverine were busy battling themselves, Marie Cartier (who was actually the brother of the Wendigo who had fallen victim to an ancient curse) and her friend, Georges Baptiste, snuck out of the woods and dragged the Wendigo’s body away from the battle. Cartier’s ultimate plan was not to have the Hulk help her find a cure but, instead, wanted to use black magic to transfer the curse from her brother to the Hulk. The poor green monster just cannot catch a break!

While the two of them were still fighting, Cartier cast a spell upon the Hulk and Wolverine which caused them to both pass out. However, when the Hulk passed out, his body reverted back into Banner’s human form and Baptiste no longer wanted to participate in her evil plan, realizing that Banner was a human just like him. Thereafter, Baptiste left and Cartier was left to deal with the two sleeping mutants on her own. While she was dealing with Wolverine, the Hulk woke up and, to put it mildly, was a little upset with Cartier and Wolverine. Cartier immediately ducked out of sight and the Hulk freed Wolverine from his chains so that they could continue their fight without interruption.

In her rush to escape, Cartier unknowingly ran into the Wendigo and let out a blood curdling scream which momentarily distracted Wolverine. Taking advantage of Wolverine’s distraction, no doubt thought turn-about was fair play, the Hulk knocked Wolverine unconscious. Standing over the defeated Wolverine, the Hulk crowed: “Little man tried to trick Hulk… but Hulk was smarter… Hulk was stronger… and that is why Hulk won!”

As a side note to the story, Cartier plan’s to cure her brother of the curse worked, just not in the way she had envisioned. Instead of transferring the curse to the Hulk, it was transferred to Baptiste.

Set against that background, we now know that the Hulk beat Wolverine in a head-to-head battle. However, would the result have been the same if Cartier had not distracted Wolverine? Who knows? But what we do know is that that fight resulted in two comic characters that gain in popularity each and every year.

With that said, my personal opinion is that the infant Wolverine costume makes a better costume for your child that the infant Hulk costume. Here are a few of the best infant costumes of the market today. Which one do you think makes a better costume for an toddler or infant?

Baby Hulk Infant / Toddler Costume

Dressed in this Baby Hulk Infant / Toddler Costume, no one will notice whether your child is pitching a fit over not getting his favorite piece of candy or just playing the role of the green behemoth. Either way, he is sure to look incredible cute doing so, albeit probably not so cute to the parents have to deal with the attitude.

Fortunately, if there is a temper outbreak, it will not be because he is uncomfortable in his baby costume. This Hulk outfit is a green bodysuit, complete with purple pants designed to look ragged at the ankles.

Finishing the Hulk attire, a Hulk character hood is included. This toddler costume is available infant and toddler sizes 12 to 18 months.

Wolverine Muscle Toddler Costume

Depicting a mutant capable of lifting between 600 and 800 pounds, dressed in this Wolverine Muscle Toddler Costume your little one will certainly be the cutest pound-for-pound kid at the costume party.

This infant X-Men costume is a primarily yellow one-piece jumpsuit that has blue and red detailing screen-printed on it.

Making your boy have the “bulk” you have come to expect from a Wolverine costume, the jumpsuit’s chest is padded in the shape of muscles.

Completing this officially licensed toddler costume is a half mask so that your little one’s secret identity will remain safely concealed. It is available in toddler sizes 2T (small) and 3T-4T (medium).
