Insomnia Relief
Do you need some form of insomnia relief? Depending on
how desperately you want an answer to our insomnia, you can decide to pursue
either natural or synthetic solutions. Insomnia can often be cured with
simplistic solutions, and I'd definitely advise you to try out one of the many
natural remedies first.
Just below is a list of many home remedies that are used for insomnia relief,
so try any number of them out, or try them together to find a combination that
works for you.
1. Valerian Root
Your supplement store should be able to supply you with
valerian tablets, an herbal solution for insomnia issues. Valerian is sometimes
called 'nature's valium', because certain dosages will make the body feel
tranquilized, as well as mollify depression, anxiety and hyperactivity in
children and adults.
2. Yoga
Since yoga is specifically intended to relax the mind and body, it's
an excellent method of seeking insomnia relief. Yoga is a popular pursuit also,
so finding a place to take a class should be very easy; try to practice at
least once every day for 30 minutes in order to feel the complete effect. Try
it out about half an hour before bed on a yoga mat in your home.
3. Deep Breathing
Deep breathing is a lot like yoga, since yoga also focuses
on steady breathing. As you're lying in bed, before you attempt to go to sleep,
try to breathe in for seven seconds, followed by breathing out for eleven
seconds. Practice this repeatedly; you can take shorter breaths if you find
yourself having trouble holding your breath for this period of time. Deep
breathing will set your body into a more relaxed 'altered state', which is more
able to fall asleep.
4. Sleeping Pills
As a final resort, if no other insomnia remedy gives you relief from insomnia, sleeping pills can be purchased over the counter; they will chemically relax your muscles, which makes your body more prone to sleeping. If you need to take sleeping pills, you should never, ever consume alcohol at the same time, as it can be extremely dangerous. Instead, drink a cup of tea if you need something to swallow the pills with. Tea is also a natural way to calm your body and settle you into a relaxed mood, making you closer to sleep.
If absolutely none of these solutions seem to provide you with insomnia relief, it is advisable to seek professional medical help from a doctor. Alternatively, try searching the Internet for additional solutions.
