If you own a dog, then one of the things you consider is getting him toys to play with. When you go online or even step into a pet store, you are bombarded by so many choices! How do you know which toys are the best or most fun for your dog? Many pet owners have turned toward interactive dog toys as the perfect entertainment toy. This is mainly because interactive dog toys are stimulating both mentally and physically. Some toys are even delicious.

The reason dogs end up chewing your shoes, sofa, pillows, and anything else they can get their paws on is because they are bored. By providing them with some degree of exciting interactive dog toys to play with, chances are they will not want to even go near your shoes again. However, there are so many interactive dog toys to choose from. Some can cost a pretty penny so what guidelines do you need to help you wade through all the marketing campaigns and enticing ads?

First of all, do you know that if you have enough free time on your hands, you can actually make your own interactive dog toys? Use old socks and sew them together to make a figure or shape. You can even insert some treats inside as an incentive to play with the socks. You could freeze some treats in a bowl of water. When the water is frozen, remove from bowl, and give it to your dog to play with. Naturally, you need to do this outdoors. Your dog will have a great time licking at the ice trying to get the doggy treat out of the middle. He will feel so proud once the treat is finally freed.

If you don't have the time or inclination to make interactive dog toys, there are 4 basic factors you should consider: safety, durability, excitement, and cost. Don't pay too much attention to the flashy and impressive ads because they're there to tempt you to buy. Rather, think about your dog and what interests him (other than food). Base your purchase on your dog's personality and preferences.

Finally, the best way to keep your dog stimulated is to spend time with them. Interactive dog toys should only be for times when you are busy and do not have time to play with them.
