Interior Decorating Options for your Bathroom

The bathroom is one of the most trafficked rooms in the house, but also one of the most easily overlooked when it comes to interior design. But it pays off to keep your bathroom's décor up to snuff, especially when guests are over. If you're looking to update the look of your bathroom, here are a few simple and relatively inexpensive bathroom decorating ideas to try out.

Update Your Cabinet Hardware
Your bathroom's cabinets are one of its main decorative as well as functional elements, so updating your cabinet's door knobs, handles and hinges can have a huge, invigorating effect on the overall look and feel of your bathroom. Cabinet hardware is an area where you can afford to spend a little more. A good set of decorative cabinet hardware can last a while and add a good deal of class and style to your bathroom.

Paint the Walls
Why keep your bathrooms walls white if you don't have to? Adding some bright color to your walls can liven up the look of your bathroom in a huge way without costing you a fortune. Most bathroom fixtures are white, so bright colors like lime green or royal blue work best. Try using more than one color and don't be afraid to add pattern.

Add New Shower Curtains
If you want to add a splash of color to your bathroom but would rather keep the white walls intact, try adding a new, colorful shower curtain, along with a set of matching decorative towels. Bright and bold shower curtains can have a great, dramatic effect on a basic white bathroom.

Decorative Tile
Installing a tile pattern around your bathtub can really spice up the interior décor of your bathroom. If you want a more subtle look, try simply installing a smaller tile pattern to your existing white walls. Place the tile at the central focal point of your walls for ideal effect.

New Lighting
The lighting is one of the most important elements of a bathroom's décor. Installing new light sources can do wonders for an old bathroom. Make sure they provide plenty of lighting from above and the sides.
