There is a growing number of people out there that have decided that they wan to become a freelance writer. Many people start to research what they have to do to begin to make money with a freelance writing career and quickly decide to quit. Why is this? There are plenty of people who chose to become a freelance writer that do have college degrees. Often times, they may have a better grasp on grammar and maybe how to write some technocol articles in the field that they got their college degree in. Perhaps a college degree gets these people who decide to become a freelance writer one of those very few writing jobs that require a college degree. Other then those few bonuses, the only thing that having a college degree will do when you become a freelance writer is to give you another debt to use the money you make to pay on.

Grammar and Spelling
-
All that you need to know about proper grammar and spelling to be a freelance writer, you probably learned in grade school. Think back to all of those reports that you had to do and how you had to edit your work before you turned it in. If you do the same types of things when you begin to do freelance writing assignments then you will be on the road to success.

SEO Know How
-
Many people chose to become a freelance writer by writing online to make money. One of the most important things that you need to know about when you write for the web is SEO or search engine optimization. Unless I missed the course offering when I was in school, most colleges will not teach you this much needed skill to make money with freelance writing. Actually the type of writing that higher levels of learning will teach you will actually be the oposite of how you need to write for the web.
-
Experience Counts
-
On the journey to become a freelance writer, the one thing that potential clients look at over and over again is your writing experience. They will ask to see published samples. Your future freelance writing clients will want to know what web sites that you have written for. They will not care that you got a degree in women's studies. Experience will get you your clients in the freelance writing world. This is what you need to become a freelance writer.

Really great article here, Jennifer! I have been following your posts here, as well as, on eHow, and at your blog....

For a while now, leading contributor here "Jcmayer777" and I have been collaborating on the first (and only, that I know of) eBook for the Info Barrel platform.

We would like for you to be involved with it. While it is nearing completion now, we believe that you could contribute some things to it that could absolutely solidify it as a success.

Together, we have both written well over 70 pages (single spaced). If you are interested, I would love it if you would reach me at:

o2ndt@yahoo.com
howard.romansiii@us.army.mil

We will absorb any and all costs associated with this. If I hear from you, I'd love to share some of our outline, as well as, a few samples of our writing....and I'll give you a bit more detail behind the project....

Howie
