Is a Chinese Atv Worth the Money?

By Edited Nov 16, 2013 0 1

Inexpensive Youth Four Wheelers

Are Chinese Atv's Worth the Low Price?  Some people, including myself think they are.

How do you make sure that you get the best Chinese atv price? How do you know if it's worth the money? There are so many out there to choose from, and all seem to focus on price, not quality. It can be a little bit difficult to compare the different units out there, but it's well worth the effort. As you likely know, these four wheelers are often priced much lower than their Japanese counterparts. Does this mean you have to sacrifice quality for a lower price? NO! There are some ways to make sure that you get the best Chinese atv price, by comparing the four wheelers. It won't take long, and it's really easy to do!  Since there are many makers, like Kazuma, RedCat, BMS, or even Linhai and Loncin, you will have lots to check out.  You can even buy four wheelers cheap online.

Quality Counts

Compare the warranty when you look for the best Chinese atv price. Not all warranties are created equal. Generally, the off brand four wheelers we're talking about have shorter, less comprehensive warranties. What does this mean to you? It really just means a little more assumed risk. Given the lower price, it may be worth it. Many of the best Chinese atv's run about 75% less than their Japanese competitors.  Check out some 110cc four wheeler

Wheel Base Issues

Compare the wheel base when you look for the best Chinese atv prices. As you can probably guess, the lower priced quads have a narrower wheelbase. This can cause the four wheeler to tip, and can lead to unsafe riding conditions. To combat this, several of the youth Chinese atv's are a little shorter overall.

Motor Considerations

What about the real important stuff, like the motor? The big boys like Honda and Yamaha allowed their patents to expire a few years back. This is the real reason the Chinese atv market took off. You still see a lot of those old late 70's 110cc three wheelers running around, don't you? When the patents expired, the off brands copied them.

Replacement ATV Parts

Are parts really interchangeable with Honda? Maybe, it just depends on the brand. Many of the Chinese atv motors are made with a much lower grade metal. You may even say it resembles the metal used for a frying pan. For this reason, the parts aren't always interchangeable. Still, many parts are, so it makes the repair process a little easier.

Having Repairs Done Professionally

Can I get the four wheeler repaired locally? Again, maybe you can, but maybe not. Many dealerships are beginning to sell the off brand quads. If you have a dealer that is selling a particular brand that you're considering, you may be in luck. If your local dealerships only sell the Japanese brands, it may be harder. It really depends on the dealership; some just won't work on anything they don't sell. If that's the case, it makes the Chinese atv harder to repair.

My Personal Experience

Should I take the risk? I did, and I don't regret it. I purchased Kazuma 110cc Falcons for my sons, no real issues so far, and it's been almost four years. On the flip side, my neighbor purchased a similar unit, and it turned out to be a lemon. Chinese atv's are a risk. They may also be worth the low price, depending on your situation.
