Is a Desa Fireplace Worth the Money? My Review

By | Jun 9, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

The fireplace hearth is considered to be where the heart of the home is. Families can spend time together here and share their day's stories. It also is a nice place to have a romantic evening with a special someone. But what if a fireplace does not emit adequate heat?

The hearth would not be so inviting if so. What one needs is a good quality fireplace designed to be efficient and at the same time look good.

One such thing is a desa fireplace. There are a lot of fireplaces out on the market with designs that range from classic to extraordinary. These make having a fireplace more than just having a heat source – it also is a form of expressing one's personality.

There also are inserts available for those looking to improve their existing fireplace. Studies show that people only receives 10-20% of the heat produced by a traditional masonry fireplace.

The warm air is absorbed by the bricks and mortars and some even goes out the chimney. This is why innovation to counter this inefficiency has started and one such product is the desa fireplace. There also is a variety of fuel available for a fireplace.

It used to be just logs and coal, which produce a lot of waste material when used. Now, there are gas and electric fireplaces. These kinds do not need chimneys because they do not produce all the smoke and ash that wood burning and coal fireplaces do.

They also are more environment friendly because bio-fuel could be used for gas fireplaces and electricity does not give off harmful emissions. Fireplaces are not cheap.

A good one, even just an insert, could cost at least $500. A desa fireplace insert costs at the minimum cost $450, relatively cheaper than the others.
