Is it Time to Buy a New Cheap Mattress?

Mattresses are like old pairs of shoes. We are so familiar with them and had them for so long it is sometimes it is hard to tell whether your mattress is actually doing more harm than good. It is often a good idea to take some time to contemplate whether you are getting the night's rest that you need. In this article I will give you a practical guide on how to tell whether it is time for a new mattress.

The first reason to change your mattress is because of a change in your life. This could be moving home, getting married or a new partner. Whatever the reason, you will need to find a cheap mattress that meets you and your partner's new needs. For example, there is no point in getting a larger mattress when the new bedroom you are moving into is smaller than your current one. Similarly, it would be regrettable to buy a mattress that is too hard or soft for your partner.

The second reason is changes in your body and health. As we get older our bodies change and with it our preference in terms of comfort. If you develop a chronic disease like arthritis you will need a mattress that ensures that you can sleep pain free through the night. The size of the mattress will change as well. Children will need a bigger mattress as they get old and adults also may find that they need more space when they sleep.

The third reason is that the mattress has simply become too old. Most mattresses begin to deteriorate after 8 years. However, the best test is whether you are waking up feeling tired or have aches and pains. This isn't always that obvious because the changes to a mattress happens over many years and sometimes people think that these aches are normal or due to something else. A good test is to see how you feel after sleeping in another bed such as when you are away at a hotel or family member's house. More obvious signs that the mattress is deteriorating is if there are any lumps, holes, torn stitching or if you are annoyed when you partner moves during the night.

Getting a good night sleep is so important. More and more research is coming out everyday that shows that sleep is important for overall health and wellbeing. Having the right mattress is one of the main ingredients in sleeping well. If you are no getting the best sleep possible take a look at your mattress and whether it now fits your current lifestyle, health requirements or if it is simply too old. If not, then it is time to start looking for cheap mattress sets.
