Jacksonville Airport Parking Solutions

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is an airport located in Duval County in northern Florida approximately nine miles away from downtown Jacksonville. JAX is a joint civil-military airport and part of the larger Jacksonville Aviation Authority. It has become a major hub for the areas of southern Georgia and northern Florida. Despite having only a single passenger terminal, JAX serves roughly around 6 million passengers every year. The record number of passengers served at JAX is 6.3 million in 2007. There are about 200 daily flights taking off from or landing at JAX, which has non-stop service to most major cities in the Country with over a dozen regional and international carriers. The traffic at JAX is expected to rise within the next few years, as the $150 million expansion plan begun a few years ago nears completion.

There are excellent passenger facilities at Jacksonville International, including a variety of public art displays for visitors to look at. As for parking, motorists arriving at JAX have a few options. Pricing is relatively good, especially compared to some of the major international airports.

Short term parking is located close to the main terminal at the Hourly Parking Garage, where the maximum daily fee is $16. People can also park at the Daily Garage, which has $12 maximum daily fee. If you want to save a few bucks, or you can't find parking at the Hourly or Daily garages, you can park in the Daily Surface Lot. It has a maximum daily fee of $10 and is located a bit further away from the main terminal. Passengers parking at the Daily Surface Lot (which is open air) can board the airport shuttle and arrive at the main terminal within a few very short minutes.

For long term Jacksonville, FL airport parking, there's the Economy Lots 1 and 2. These are located much further away from the terminal, but again, the free airport shuttle takes passengers to the terminal from the lots fairly quickly. The daily fee limit for Lots 1 and 2 is $6. Economy Lot 3 is reserved for Special Events and Holidays and has a max daily fee of $25.
