James Randi is a real life hero. He's dedicated his life to debunking psychic phenomena. He really is a legend. I am a huge fan of his work because he has had a real positive influence on our world and on our beliefs. You see, in my opinion, believing in paranormal phenomena is dangerous and borderline delusional. It's so easy to get tricked into believing into this kind of thing. Illusionists and professional psychics/magicians know how to trick you into believing in them... at the end of the day though, it's all a load of baloney. Not to mention a serious waste of time and energy.

You see I've gone to see a psychic myself a couple of times out of curiosity and I'm proud to say it was baloney. None of the things they predicted really came true and it was a complete waste of my money. Even worse, I actually really believed in them too so I took their advice to heart and acted on their advice which really led me astray for a while. I'd be a lot better off if I didn't listen to them in the first place. I won't get into what they advised me to do but it was nothing bad don't worry... it was just bad advice and I was foolish enough to follow it.

Also, when you start believing in this kind of thing, it's easy to become way too far "out there" if you know what I mean. It's easy to get completely lost in all this nonsense and sort of lose touch with reality. What is reality? Well, in my opinion, reality is what you can perceive with your 5 senses... That's all. What you see is what you get and anyone who tells you the contrary is feeding you lies.

If you don't believe me, I highly recommend you study the work of James Randi who is an expert in debunking all kinds of psychic phenomena. Don't fall into the trap that is delusions of telepathy or psychic phenomena. Also, another great resource I'd like to share with you is Penn and Teller's show called Bull!!!! and watch the episode about ESP. They do a great job at debunking this stuff too.

It's really crazy how often ideas of the paranormal are being fed to us through the media. It's incredible. Most of us are very gullible. It's just our human nature... It's so easy to fall prey to these false beliefs.

I'd like to argue that these false beliefs are very detrimental to your health, well-being and level of success in life. The reason I believe this is because if you believe in this stuff, you'll start believing in anything really. Sure, it's a good idea to keep an open mind... but come on... psychics? really? It's nonsense!

I think people who consult psychics are just wasting their time and money. It's not worth it. In addition, what if you actually believe what they are telling you and you act on it... they can really lead you astray like I said they did to me earlier.

Some so-called psychics shared some disturbing things about my past that I didn't know about and I actually believed them. This caused me to become very paranoid around the people that were involved... I had become distrustful based on what psychics told me which was nonsense in the first place. It hurt my relationships and caused a lot of distress for me and those affected people... It just wasn't healthy.

Also, I remember hearing in a video that the reason people gravitate to these supernatural ideas is that they are just plain bored with their current lives. You have to realize that there are way better ways to make your life more interesting than just believing in paranormal activities. There are a lot more healthier ways of adding adventure into your life.

It's amazing at how crazy some peoples' beliefs are... If you're reading this, I encourage you to take a second at look at your own current beliefs whatever they may be whether religious or spiritual or whatever and think about if they appear a little crazy to anyone else in the world. If you answered yes to this... maybe it's time to think about your beliefs and consider the idea that they may be nonsensical. I'm sorry that I'm the one that has to suggest this to you but someone has to do it. Someone has to try to help you grow and question your beliefs.

Beliefs are powerful things and most of them come from childhood. I remember what it was like for me to free myself from my own beliefs that I inherited from my parents as a young kid.

Anyways, back to my main point. Go to youtube.com and check out any and all youtube videos about james randi that interest you. You can a whole lot from that guy. He is one wise man. He is one of my heroes.

I believe in critical thinking, science, and being rational... Most of the people on this planet - the majority really - is highly irrational when it comes to what they believe in including believing in the supernatural. Again, I would argue that the media plays a big role in this because they feature things like ghosts, and psychics all the time on their shows and movies for example.

If you're still not convinced... the best way to begin freeing yourself from all these irrational beliefs is to test your beliefs. If you believe in psychic phenomena, try to send a message telepathically to someone you know and check to see with them if they received it... I promise you they won't receive your message. They'll never receive anyone's message for that matter.

Furthermore, if you still believe in telepathy and if you think you communicate telepathically with others, I'm sorry but I have to be blunt: maybe it's time for you to go get some mental health help from a psychiatrist... I say this because telepathy is one of the most common delusions in people experiencing psychosis.
