Jenny Craig vs NutriSystem - Which Diet Program Comes Out On Top?
In the weight loss industry, the Jenny Craig vs NutriSystem debate keeps heating up. And it's easy to understand why. Two of the most popular dieting systems available today are the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program and the NutriSystem dieting plan. Chances are that you've heard good things about both of them. This is exactly why you might be having trouble choosing between them, right? After all, the programs are very similar, so which one should you pick?
First, consider what the two plans have in common. Both Jenny Craig and NutriSystem are easy, and involve a minimum of muss and fuss. One of the things that has always made traditional diets difficult to stick to was how complicated they were, and how much effort was involved. You had to measure food portions, and count calories, and make special trips to the store to buy exactly the right kinds of foods. For many dieters, this is the downfall of dieting. If you are feeling tired or lazy, sometimes the temptation to visit the drive-thru or heat up something simple (but not on your diet) at home is just too strong.
But, with both NutriSystem and Jenny Craig, you don't have to worry about any of that. Both dieting plans provide you with all of the foods you will be eating on your weight loss program. And each meal has already been measured and prepared. Questions of calorie count and nutritional value have been taken out of your hands.
On both Jenny Craig and NutriSystem, you will lose approximately 1 to 3 pounds a week, a safe and healthy amount of weight loss. Like any kind of weight loss program though, the trick is going to be keeping that weight off once you lose it. So it is important to not return to old habits.
The place where the NutriSystem program has the advantage is on the price. The Jenny Craig weight loss program will cost at least $400 a month, and sometimes it can add up to even more than that. However, with Jenny Craig, you are able to work one on one with a counselor at their weight loss centers, which is where you go to pick up your food. For some folks, that really can help with motivation, having someone to check in with on your progress every week. If you prefer not to go to a Jenny Craig office, you can also order your meals delivered to your door.
NutriSystem, on the other hand, costs about $300 a month. That's a savings of about $100 per month, or more, but you will be on your own as far as the diet goes. Nutrisystem does offer some phone support if you find you really need it, but generally you just place your order online and wait for your food to arrive at your door.
So, in the Jenny Craig vs. NutriSystem battle, which one comes out on top? Both are easy to use. And both will help you to lose the same amount of weight at the same pace. So the final decision will come down to whether you want some in-office support like Jenny Craig provides, or whether you would just prefer to save the extra money each month. In that case, NutriSystem will be your best bet.
