There are lots of jobs in the travel industry

Seriously!

For those who love to travel there are many jobs available in the Travel Industry.
We'll be covering a few of those jobs and will give you some tips on how to go about getting them.

Air host/hostess

Working for a big airline can be a great way of seeing the world and making pretty good money at the same time. The pay is fairly competitive and you get great perks such as nearly free flights (you only pay the taxes) after your first 6 months. That being said, flying all over the place can lead to some serious jet lag and you may be too tired from working and flying to really get to explore wherever you are before you have to head off again for work.

Travel Agent

A travel agent helps people organize and plan their flights and travel.
Many people think that the career of being a travel agent is dying however it is still viable.
You don't need to join a travel agency to become a travel agent. There are numerous online programs that allow you to become certified and begin selling travel packages.

Tour Guide

If you like staying mainly in one place and meeting lots of people from all over the world then being a tour guide could be a great job for you. You get to really experience a different part of the world and show that part of the world to others. You'll meet lots of cool people and everyone will want to be your friend and take you out.

Travel Blogger

A travel blogger is someone who puts up their own travel blog/website and makes money off of it in various ways. They write about their travel experience and provide useful information to readers. It can take a long time to start making money as a travel blogger so it's a good idea to have another job while your working towards this. This is probably the easiest job in the travel industry to get as you work for yourself.

Travel Writer

A travel writer is someone hired (usually be a newspaper, big magazine, or website) to write about various travel related topics. These gigs can be quite hard to get and you often need some prior experience, a university degree, or a good connection.

Working on a cruise ship

Working on a cruise ship can be a good way to see quite a bit of the world at a more relaxed pace. You'll meet a good group of people who you'll be working with and you'll be making money while travelling around and stopping at various cool places.

These are just a few of the many jobs available in the travel industry. Hopefully they've given you some ideas on things you can do and places you can go.
